4 piece Canvas Nursery Set and a whole lotta paper piecing!

A while back I purchased quite a few of these little Canvases. They Measure 4x4x2 inches and came in a package of 12! I knew there were so many projects that I'd be able to do with them! Here is one of them!

Paper Piecing is simply Fussy Cutting (Hand Cutting) around your stamped image on multiple papers. Here you can See I stamped the Balloon images onto 3 different papers so each balloon varies.

The Paper set I used for these was Basic Grey Serendipity and Shine On. I still love this set today!

This adorable stamp set is from the Sweet Stamp Shop - Admit one

Have you been planning on doing some Wall Art but haven't decided what to do?

DIY Subway Art with your Cricut

Hey Guys and Gals! Are you ready for another DIY on the Cheap project? I got the wood Free. One place to score free wood is your local Hardware store! They usually have a wood scrap bin. Everytime I end up at Lowes or Home Depot I grab what I can use out of there! This is one of my Freebies!

All you have to do is paint your board, then measure the width. On your cricut just make sure every word that you use fits into that measurment! How simple is that!

DIY Lego Birthday and Free Printable

Here is the Lego Toss Banner I made.
Feel free to use it, just please link back to my blog if you post it!

Right Click and save it to your PC.
It prints out on an 8.5x11 sheet of white cardstock Landscape

I taped the two pieces of styrofoam together and covered with Blue Crepe Paper!

It was seriously easy to make, and the boards were only 50 cents each and crepe paper is around .80 cents a package and you'll have TONS left over!

What do you think? Would your Kiddo LOVE this?!

DIY Ribbon Topiary

Hello friends! Today I created a Ribbon Topiray. This would be darling as a centerpiece for a Wedding don't you think?!

To make the Ribbon flowers I cut 3 foot strips of the Ribbon and hand stitched one side of the ribbon all the way. I cinched the Ribbon down until it was as tight as I could get it, and tied it off with a knot.

I adhered each piece onto the Styrofoam Ball individually. I used Burlap Ribbon to embellish the Terra-cotta Planter and painted the planter and dowel turquoise.

So, what do you think? Does this look like something you might try?!

Grandma Hoerner's New Treats for a Lovely Brunch

I have to show you these new pouches from Grandma Hoerners! These are Available in a Target store near you!

I absolutely LOVE Grandma Hoerners! It is about a 2 hour drive away, but is in between our home and the Grtandparents, so we drive by it often! Before, I could only get their Kettle Cooked Apples only at the store, but now I can get them down the street with the new pouches!

Right now their are only 6 flavors (Shown Above), but they have 16 scrumptious flavors coming out over the next year!

I used the Boysenberry Chocolate on top of pancakes! I also use the Kettle Cooked Apples in my Amish Friendship bread each year! It makes a Delicious Apple Cinnamon version of the Friendship Bread and makes it so moist!

Have you seen them in your Target? Is this something you might like to try?

Creating for a Cause with the I Feel the Love Project

Good morning everyone! My name is Cindy Womack and I am thrilled to be a guest contributor on Home Spun Elegance today! I am a blogger (I Am a More Than a Mother: Life with an Empty Nest) who loves to create hand crafted greeting cards.   I am also on the Board of Directors for an amazing cards for causes project, the I Feel the Love Project, and I would like to let you know how you can be apart of its fabulous mission.

http://iammorethanamother.blogspot.com/

The I Feel the Love Project recently received a thank you card in the mail. It was from Claire Koreck and her family.  Claire was the March 2013 recipient of the IFTL Project cards.  As you can see on her sign, Claire is now cancer free after battling bone cancer!!

If you think that creating cards for those in need doesn't matter, check out what Claire's mom had to say about Claire receiving the cards from the I Feel the Love Project:
"...I am writing to you to let you know how much those amazing and beautiful hand made cards meant to Claire and our entire family.  They are special, magical, and filled with love, and we appreciate your kindness more than you could ever know.  We told her that the cards were in a box under her bed so that all those well wishes and prayers would protect her while she slept. They are still there!"
It is an amazing feeling to know that the card you donate can have that much impact on a sick child's life.  This is all the inspiration I need to continue to send cards to our recipients each month and I hope this message from Claire's mom has inspired you to join us as we create handcrafted cards for those in need of love and support.

For those of you who don't know how the I feel the Love Project works, we choose a monthly recipient to receive handcrafted cards from individuals all over the world.  To see some of our previous honorees, click HERE.  We have been sending handcrafted cards to individuals and groups since June of 2011.  It is our goal to be able to expand our efforts to include sending gift cards.  We would like to be able to send parents of hospitalized children to lunch, or help them with gas money... We also envision sending gift cards to others who are reeling from a natural disaster.

We cannot do this without your help.  We rely completely on donations from caring individuals like you.  The IFTL Project is run entirely by volunteers and thus there are no paid staff members.  Donated funds go to help offset the cost of postage, which is one of the biggest monthly expenses, as well as the cost of running the project (i.e., filing fees, advertising, website...). For the past two and a half years, this project has been funded almost entirely by the President, Madison Womack, and her family.  Due to the fact that the project is growing, additional funds are needed to keep it going and growing!!

With that, I am pleased to announce that the IFTL Project finally received the letter that we have been waiting for since August of 2012!  It is official, the I Feel the Love Project is now a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.  We are over the moon with this as it will now make it possible for us to start fundraising efforts with this status.

We would appreciate it if you could spread the word. Perhaps you can share this information with friends on your social media sites. There may be individuals out there who may not participate by sending in a handcrafted card, but perhaps these same people would consider sending $5 to further our cause.
