How/Why did you get started Designing your own Product

Oh gosh, I got bit by the design bug big time while at CHA in 2012. Suddenly anything seemed possible, and instead of wondering "if" I could do it, I decided to believe I really could do it. So I did! And now you're reading about it, how cool is that?!

Where can we find CF products?

Visit where you will find my stamps and Fri-dies, as well as the list of stores that carry us in the USA, Canada, and the UK on Our Amazing Retailers tab. I'll bet you see at least one of your favorites there!

What did you do before Designing Stamps and Dies?

I was a stay at home mom, and designer for 2 stamp companies and a few challenge blogs, which is the fancy way of saying I cooked, cleaned and wished I had more crafty time.
Oh, and I had this little challenge blog called CAS-ual Fridays!

While drooling over you store, I noticed that the Dies coordinate with multiple stamp sets! I LOVE this feature! It really shows that you think about your consumers! Tell us why?

I have to answer that by asking another question- what comes first the stamps or the Fri-Dies?

The answer is the... stamps!

When I design my dies, I use the stamps as inspiration but design the dies so that they can be used completely independent of the stamps.

When I designed my tag dies, I played with the sizes so that they would coordinate with lots and lots of my stamp sets.

Why? Because a) I know not everyone uses stamps all the time when they design, and b) I want lots of choices and lots of bang for my buck, and I know you do too!

And just in case you are wondering, more Fri-Dies are coming in April to coordinate with a few more of our sets that you already know and love. Hmm, I wonder which ones. *grin*

What CAS-ual Fridays Product are you most proud of?

Wow, that's like asking me to pick a favorite child! WTF had me laughing the entire time I was designing it, and my Heart Notes Fri-Die {Below} completely delights me, I think Shenanigans is a little glimpse inside my head AND it's totally fun to say...I'm proud of all my designs, but I guess my biggest source of pride is that they ALL are designed exclusively by me.

Any Secrets or tempting tidbits you can give us about upcoming products from CF?

Shhh...don't tell anyone, but...if you liked our Love Notes and Heart Note Fri-Dies {Shown Below}, you will LOOOVE our May release!!

How did you feel when you made your first sale!?

Terrified that would be the only one! LOL! Every sale makes me smile, and is still hand packaged by me.

Describe your design process?

Aaahh, so you want all my secrets! Let me just say, I try as hard as I can NOT to pay attention to what anyone else is doing. I listen to music loudly, I love wordplay, and I just try to be open to every day things that might inspire me.

When designing, how do you approach your projects?

Oh that's easy, I let my rock star design team work their magic! They are ALL purple chin designers who knock my socks off on a daily basis. Seriously, I rarely design projects anymore, my creative time is spent working on future stamp and die designs.

What type of style do you tend to lean towards?

I am a CAS girl at heart but love to see those Utterly Adorable Layers that other people do so well.

Should we expect any surprises from CF?

Yes! Every release is a surprise! Only the Girl Fridays know what's coming next, but they won't tell. *wink*

What are your top 5 Paper Crafting Supplies/companies/products/tools?

Hmmm... well of course I'm going to say CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, and I do love my Scor-Buddy, my Memento ink pads from Tsukineko, I love May Arts ribbon and I cannot all... without my Stampin' Up grid paper. Seriously, anyone who has ever gotten inky with me is nodding their heads right now because they know how true that is.

What do we not know about you?

I was born with the need for speed. I'm an old barrel racer who can rope too. I rode rodeo until my back gave out in my 30's. I would totally be a race car driver now, if only my husband would buy me a race car.

Tell us about your Family!

Happily married to my best friend for the last 17 years, and mom to our 2 amazing boys. We also have 2 adorable Boston Terriers. My oldest son Zac, the freshman, is in the pics with our dogs, Nate the pup and Ellie our old girl. He is a fierce wrestler but these pics show his soft side.  Bry is my 7th grader who rarely puts down that guitar of his unless he's wrestling. Both are honors students and have dreams of wrestling for Big 10 colleges. So when you purchase a CAS-ual Fridays Stamp or Fri-Die, you are contributing to their college funds.   My husband is an amazing guy who has made it possible for me to be a stay at home mom for the last 14 years, and believed I could do this little company of mine even before I did.

Michele was awesome and included a $20.00 giveaway to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for one Lucky Reader!!

I'm including some of my favorite CAS-ual Friday products to get you thinking how you would spend your $20.00!

If you are a nut about Coordinating Stamp and Die Sets like I am you'll LOVE seeing that Michelle has made more than one stamp set to coordinate with the Fri-Dies! This tells me she truly thinks about her clientele!
