Subway Art with Cricut and Linnie Blooms!

Good Morning everyone! Have I got another fun project to share with you with my Linnie Blooms Blanks! Today, I used the arrows for this fun Subway Art project! You can EASILY and inexpensively re-create this fun project for your home too!  I simply painted a piece of scrap board. I used a few of my Cricut Font Cartridges and my Linnie Bloom Blanks!

$$$$$$ - Did you know that you can get FREE pieces of scrap wood from Home Depot, or Lowes or your local hardware store? When they cut pieces that are mis-measured, or the leftover pieces for a cut they put them in a scrap bin, and everything in there is FREE for the taking!!

If you missed my last 2 projects with Linnie Blooms, here they are!

Prima Linnie Blooms Blanks Shadow Box

For this adorable project I scored this shadow box for $1.99 from the Goodwill Store and used the Linnie Blank Butterflies, a lot of beautiful Prima, and I shredded a cardboard box down to the Corrugation.

I used Tim Holtz Distress ink and paint to color the Shadow box, which is the Linnie Blooms Challenge this month! Make sure to stop by and join us!!

I added bits and pieces of Doilies and Recollections Bling

I used the hot pink Gelatos to paint the edges of the Linnie Blanks, and stamped on the Blanks with a Prima Stamp.

Homespun Decor Fabulous and Frugal Finds

Well good morning all!! I am so excited to be posting today!! It really has just felt like forever since I've gotten to craft! In reality, I have been doing so many DIY projects it's just crazy! I've been doing a LOT of working in the yard, and refurbishing and repurposing to get our new house together! Well, the house we moved too, is not technically new to us. I purchased the home back in 2009, but shortly after moving in, I found out I was pregnant with Little Mason! So I got a tenant in the house about 6 months after mason was born, and have had tenants in it since. There has been a lot of work to do for sure!

I wanted to personalize some home décor items of my Son and I. I had a frame for a cabinet that I had purchased for 3 dollars at a yard sale (I have one more I can't wait to use!) I distressed it as shown below

I painted it in an antique White and used Tim Holtz antique Distrees Walnut Stain and a bag to age the frame

Here is what the frame looks like after "aging"

My screen door had been ruined on the house so I pulled it off and decided I was going to use it on this project! It worked out perfectly

I used a variety of embellishments and my favorite photos of Mason and I to decorate! and Voila! And adorable piece of Homespun and VERY inexpensive home décor!

I hope you liked it!! Don't forget there are some amazing hops and prizes!

DIY Refurbished Chalkboard Decor out of a Cabinet Door

I have submitted this project for the selection process of Creating with the Stars! I created a new post for this fabulous opportunity Here! Make sure to stop in to check out East Coast Creative Blog, where the creator's of this series are hosting a Link Up Party for YOU to Show what you've got!

Happy Monday Everyone!! Have I got a FUN and FABULOUS treat for you today! I am so excited to have been selected to Design for May Arts 2013 -2014 Design Team, and even more excited that my first project will be a part of their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for their new Web Design! Make sure to stop on over! The giveaway is over 1,000.00 (yes) that's 3 ZERO'S!!

Today is the first Day in the Blog Hop, so you should have come from Jenifer Cowles Blog, if not make sure to start on the May Arts Blog to be entered into the Giveaway!!

Here is a Close up of my Project! If you've been keeping up with my insane Life, my kiddo and I recently moved, and I was losing my keys daily in our new house. They'd be found in the car, in the door, in boxes in the house, so I needed a place to hang our keys with a quickness! ;) I had an unfinished cabinet door I had picked up at a garage sale for $3.00 in the garage and decided it was perfect!!

I bought a can of paint that was Mis-Tinted at the hardware store for $3.00 and painted the trim on the cabinet door. You can find so many fun colors of paint for great prices in the mis-tint section! Go give it a look! I bet you will find something for a project you've been wanting to do!

To distress the cabinet door, I just used a bunch of tools out of my tool bag, and even some of my jewelry tools got in on the action!

After distressing, use coffee grounds, tea bags, or ink to stain the piece.

Rinse off your project to remove any remaining Coffee grounds and let dry

A Close up of how the coffee grounds "settle" into the Distress marks

Tie your amazing selection of May Arts Ribbon (I chose the Chevron 1.5 inch ) around a sheet of chalkboard paper, and your favorite familiy photos and adhere to the cabinet.

Screw in hooks to the bottom to hold your families keys!

I hope you loved the project today! It sure has come in handy!

Next Stop !!
on to the lovely and talented Courtney Lee

........................................................................................

Good Morning Everyone! I am so thrilled to be posting my First Project on the Linnie Blooms Design Team! Linda Barutha, owner of Linnie Blooms came up with a super fun game, I Spy, to introduce you each of the Linnie Bloom Blanks! They are the fun canvas' that you have seen the team playing with this month!

To play along please stop by the Linnie Blooms Facebook Page and guess the shapes that the Designers use!

Each Member of the Design Team was given Canvas Blanks to create with. There are so many fun possibilities with these adorable Blanks!

I sprayed the Blanks with Smooches Spritz Spray, and pressed them into the Paper for a little of the canvas texture and keep the weathered look throughout the project. I sewed across the Pennant tops and used wood veneer embellishments to finish it off!

I have been having a lot of fun playing with these blanks! They are also GREAT fun with Gelatos which are available as well in the shop!

Linnie Blooms is also Sponsoring the Crafty Chicks Blog Hop this Month with a $30.00 Gift Certificate, so if you would like to WIN BIG make sure to stop back by here on the 15th to hop and win!!
So, what do you think? How would you use these pennants?
