I am really excited to be sharing this card ;) I had totally blown of the neon trend going around and while checking out of a supply store, I saw some Neon Fabric Paints in the "Impulse area" ;) Well, Impulsively, I bought them! I just had to try this trend out for myself!

The team hasn't even seen this one yet :) Last they heard it would at least take me 2 years to catch up to the current trends ;) Well Ladies, I LOVE IT!! Nicole, I am hooked!

I also used another insanely popular trend, especially in our little group! Vellum! This Vellum is actually more like a plastic, and I purchased it in the school supply section of Walgreens for about 16 cents per sheet! Each sheet is about 3 feet x 2 feet!! You did read that right! My ten sheets are going to last me a crafters lifetime!

I used the sweet little roses from the Dia de los Muertos Set released today, and the Love Story from the Starts Here set.

I ended up making my own paper by simply dropping random spots of the Fabric paint all over an 8.5x11 sheet of white cardstock and pressing another sheet on top. It also gives it a little texture when you lift it up which added a nice little element to the paper!

So what do you think? Vellum? Love it or Hate it!?

This release is called Dia de los Muertos! "Day of the Dead"

I am not a scary Halloween person ;) I think because my little guy is still so young, Halloween for me is sweet and gentle, so it was a lot of fun to play with this set and try my hardest to give this project a little edge! All in all, I don't think I did too bad, but you do have to stop by the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog to see the rest of the teams creations with this set! INSANE!!

So, I can't color and/or shade like no ones business! How do I work around that when using images like these? I use my Sakura Glaze pens! I put down a lot of ink from the first color and while it is still wet, I apply the second color, gently pulling the colors in together to give it a blended or shading effect. I think it works pretty well. What do you think? Have you tried Sakura Glaze pens for Shading before?
