Winner of the Specialty Ribbon!

I have to apologize first for getting this out so late!!  I have had quite a bit going on! I just started as a Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay, which I am VERY excited about! A little nervous as well, as anyone in new endeavors :) I must say though, I have noticed a remarkable difference in the way that I care for my skin and myself! { As most of you may know, last year I reached the coveted thirties!! EEEEEKKKK! And in just a little over a month, I will be thirty-one! You will notice, I have to spell it out, rather than use the numerics version. It just seems easier to swallow }

There are some fantastic products from Mary Kay - and I am not just saying that because I have just become a consultant. I have used certain products since my teens actually. My Mother had a consultant over when I was still in High School. I fell in love with the Oil-Free Eye-Makeup Remover, Indulge Soothing Eye Gel {Keep this in your fridge and dab a little under your eyes each morning}, Brush Collection Set, and of course the Satin Hands Pampering Set  and Satin Lips Pampering Sets! Now, I must say, that I am falling in Love with Mary Kay all over again! Especially with the fine lines setting in! For this, my go to is the Time-Wise Miracle Set! and for the advanced signs of aging - there is a new 5 step

TimeWise Repair™ Volu-Firm™ Set

Foaming Cleanser
Lifting Serum
Day Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Night Treatment With Retinol
Eye Renewal Cream

I hope that you will stop by to see what the Mary Kay product line has to offer you! You can check out my store at www.marykay.com/jessicakephart

The Music to My Song

Follow Me on Pinterest

I printed off one of my favorite photos of Mason when he was younger. The photo is printed on regular lightweight printer paper. I trimmed it with my paper trimmer, and distressed the edges with a pair of scissors.

The Music Background Paper is from My Minds Eye, Follow your Heart Collection. I used the same distressing technique on this peice. The Black cardstock is a premade card from paper studio. These packs are awesome! I usually use Kraft, Black and White from The Paper Studio.

{I have some pinks and blues, but they are not used nearly as often!}

The twine is from Doodlebug Designs. It is SO bright and Cheerful, I thought it would compliment the nuetral tones in the card.

The sentiment is from the You Are Stamp set from Pink by Design.

On the inside of a black card, I will usually place a peice of white untextured cardstock to write on, and minimal embellishing. Here, I used the left over peices from the My Minds Eye 6x6 and partially cut a 2 inch circle.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. As always, it is so nice to share projects that I love and to hear what you all think!~ I hope that you will come back soon!

PbD Challenge – For the Birds

This card is for the Weekly Wednesday Challenge Ink it pink at

I have a confession to make! I AM OBSESSED WITH WASHI TAPE!!
J

Aren’t you? I use it in so many ways! Not just in crafting, but really everywhere.

I use Washi to put clear instructions and little notes on Preston’s lunch.  For instance, “Heat 45 sec in Microwave & add to Salad”.  As the tape is repositionable, I don’t have to worry about leaving adhesive on the item and scrubbing like crazy to remove it! I have also used my washi tape to label my Son’s Toy cars, so when he took them to school, they weren’t mixed in with the other kiddos, or the schools.

My Minds Eye has one the most adorable collections available right now, {The Sweetest Thing} and they also create Décor (Washi) Tape to coordinate with this Collection!

Products used for this Card

·         Pink by Design, Faith Stamp Set, “Love Never Fails”

·         My Minds Eye, The Sweetest Thing Collection, Décor {Washi} Tape

·         DCWV Linen Closet Card Stock Pack {Background Paper}

·         The Paper Studio, Pre-Made White Card Stock and Envie

·         American Crafts, Dear Lizzy Collection, Chipboard pieces

Although these Chipboard pieces are self-adhesive, you will still want to use a dab of zip dry glue. The pieces will fall of otherwise.

Also, if you are looking for a great deal on Washi Tape, check out DownTownTape! You won’t be disappointed!

If you haven’t linked up yet for A Homespun Affairs Link up Party, now is your chance!!
