Stamping Technique - Ceramic Tiles

Good Morning Everyone!! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend with us at www.pinkbydesignstamps.com over the weekend!! If you missed it, you missed a lot! We had great challenges every hour on the hour, great giveaways, and a live challenge at the U-stream!!

Here was my Challenge - Home Decor - and i wanted to share this project in case anyone missed it!! I had a lot of fun creating this project, and I always try to think of something fun, and to use my stamps in different ways than the norm!

If you try this technique, I would LOVE if you would Share on my Facebook fan page @

Would you believe me if I told you this entire project cost under $2.00? Yeah, I wouldn't have either, if I didn't make it ;)
I used Four 4x4 ceramic tiles @ .44 cents each $1.32
1 3/8 inch Dowel @ .29 cents .29
Scrap piece of wood from Home Depot FREE = 1.61 with some room for taxes and price differences ;)

Other supplies that I did not include in cost, as I will be using them again or cost was too small to consider
Pink by Design Stamps - Make it a Venti
Stayzon Ink in Jet black
Kraft Paper
Drill gun and Bits
Four Furniture Pads
Gorilla Wood Glue

Aren't they adorable!!! I used two short (2.5 inches) Dowels in the front so that it didn't overtake the coaster design, but the ones in the back are taller and constructed to be more sturdy to hold them.

I used furniture pads on the bottom of the coasters to keep them from scratching any furniture! These are the only sizes that I had on hand!! So, if you are making these, use smaller ones ;)

Okay, when constructing the Base, you will need a drill gun, Drill bit set, your cut dowels, I cut at 4 inches and 2.5 inches (about 1/2 an inch will be in the base piece of wood). I marked each cut, and left more room in the front than in the back, as to display the stamped card stock up front. No one is really going to ohh and aww about the stamped images behind the last dowels

Start with your smallest bit, and work your way up to the size of dowel you have, one by one. This is important so that your piece of wood does not crack. Drill each hole, cut Dowels to length and sand, and pop in holes. Adhere with a little wood glue and your base is set.

For the stamping on the tiles, it is very important to move quick. I tried this multiple times, and the clearest and best result was to ink, place on tile and remove immediately. On some stamping it is best to place stamp, put even pressure and move slow - NOT ON THESE!! Even pressure is good, but it must be quick or as soon as you remove your stamp from the ceramic tiles, it takes back up the ink.

ONLY use stayzon ink - there are other colors besides black

Keep in mind, Stayzon will come off of these tiles with LOT'S of elbow grease and alcohol wipes. :) This is GREAT news, and how I was able to play with the technique over and over until I got something that I was happy with.

And please, stop by the store and check out the new stamps that were released last weekend!!!

Great Prize Right?!?!

So remember to follow and comment on this short hop today!!

For my project today, I have needed some Christmas Decor for some time now. Until I had my beautiful Son, I told my Mother that I was a minimalist {YES, I even threw away photos!! - GASP}, and that I would only need 1 home decor item per holiday. For Christmas, that was a tree.

I served in the military for 7 years, and moved around quite a bit at first, and lived in barracks, with 1 other Coastie, the Lovely Jessica Wall, or on a ship with enough space for a blanket and some shampoo!! So, needless to say, Decor was not a priority for a long time!

Then, last Christmas, my Son had the best of time looking at Christmas lights! We would drive around and around so he could see them and ooh and aww. So, this year, I have a lot of items packed up and ready to go for this coming Christmas!! I can't WAIT!!

{Please Click Photos to enlarge}

Anyhow, onto my project! I purchased the twig wreath at Michaels, and used a Recollections Christmas CardStock Pack for the Rosettes. I have two of Tim Holtz Dies for rosettes, a Med/Small die, and a large rosette die. I used all three on this project. I cut the Recollections card stcok to two inch strips and ran them through the Big Shot - A VERY BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY TEAM!! My original big shot was broken in a battle with a coke pop can. Very unfortunate!! And my team got together, and sent me one in the mail! This group of women are so great!! {Our fearless host is one of those lovely ladies!!} Hugs Girls!!

I used Hot glue on my rosettes, a MUCH quicker way, let me tell you, than using ANY other adhesive!! I placed the rosettes on the wreath first, then the embellishments to make sure it was spaced correctly.

Then, I found the twig that was wrapping the wreath to keep it together, and snagged every green, red and white button I could find, to adorn this peice. I used hot glue on most parts of this project. Hot Glue Heats fast, holds like crazy, and sets fast!!

In the middle is a Home cut from the Cricut Imagine and Snow Angel Cartridge. Hopefully when you enlarge the photos you can see the texture on the house. I used Snow Tex for this effect, and added a little glitter to the base.

The Santa Embellishments are from Jolees. Aren't they Cute as can be!!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my wreath for today!! Laurie's Hops are always very creative projects, and make a person stretch their creativity!!

And it looks like I am the last on the stops for todays Hop!! I hope that you had a great time! I know that I LOVE challenging myself in Lauries Hops!! She always has a spectacular theme to play along with!!

The sets that I am showing today are Attitude and Instantly!

Attitude has some fantastic and fun sentiments, that you don't usually get to see, so WHAT FUN!!

I used the sentiment, Kiss my Sass :)

This sticker was actually meant as an encouragement sticker, but I think it worked appropriately here, eh?

And just in case you thought I was kidding, I added "No, Really" to the bottom ;) In retrospect, it would have been better on the inside of the card!! I will switch that tomorrow ;)

This stamp set - Instantly, is a MUST-HAVE for crafters who also love to dab in photography, or have friends interested in it!! Not only that, but the images and sentiments with it are so CUTE!!

To provide some texture, I used my Son's diaper box for the corregated inside of the cardboard.

So {Snap Happy}!!

I also made a Layout with Instantly. I just LOVE this picture of my Son Mason. He is such a happy little boy, and always has been.

These are also parts of the Instantly Stamp set! Aren't they darling!!! I stamped them with Stayzon ink on Kraft Cardstock and cut out. I love the texture it provides.

I just LOVE the way the sentiment works for this photo, and the truth it rings. My Life in an Instant. That was what Mason became the second I found out that I was pregnant.

And here is the ADORABLE Camera on this stamp Set!! CUTE HUH??

A little retro Pink! Oh Yes Please!!

Good Morning Ya'll!! It's Jessica here! But, were you expecting someone else?!?

Today I have a SUPER quick project for you!! This is a free printable, I am hoping soon to tell you where I found it, but the blog I think it came from, is not cooperating with me!!

This gal was printed on Pink Vellum - When previewing, and printing you can make you're printables specific sizes. I made her a 4x6 and cut two from an 8.5x11 printable vellum.  I cut her to size to fit the card, Pulled a sheer ribbon from the back to the front and adhered in various spots with my ATG gun. I used adhesive under the rboon to adhere the embellishments, which I got from Joann's dollar bin. Ain't she grand?!?!

I don't know about you, but I ADORE Shabby Shic!!

And here is my RAPIDLY GROWING CHILD!! He went for a visit to Grandma and Grandpas recently, and came back with his hair chopped off. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEkkkk - He grew up overnight it seems!!

And here he is with Daddy Playing!! We have a VERY similar photo taken by our wonderful photographer exactly a year to the date {shown below}

Well, almost identical!! lol She is a professional photographer. I dabble in a lot, am a pro to none!! lol
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I appreciate EVERY single site visit, and am very gracious to be posting about the things that I love and having at least one person comment and be interested in what I have to say and share!! :)
