Little Prince Party Blog Hop

Homespun Elegance Prince Blog Hop

Well good morning everyone, and Welcome to the Little Prince Blog Hop!! I am so excited to be hosting my first ever Blog Hop, and have some VERY creative friends who will be sharing some fabulous creations for the little Prince's in their lives!  I hope that you all have a fabulous time! Please leave some Blogger Love on their designs that they have worked so hard on! :)

Each stop along the way has fun and exciting giveaways to share with you all! To be entered all you need to do is Hop Today and Tomorrow on each stop along the way, follow and leave a comment!

My giveaway for the Little Prince Blog Hop is the Provo Craft Happy Hauntings Cartridge!

This Cartridge is Perfect for Halloween!! It has the spppooooookkkkiiiieeest cuts!!

Just to give you an idea of the giveaways this weekend here are some previews!! And there are MORE that I don't have pics of!!!!

Now, on to my projects for Today! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for some more fun and a FABULOUS Surprise at the end of the hop!   (CLICK ON PICTURES TO ZOOM)

All of my cuts are form the Elmo's Party Cartridge! The Face was cut from page 28 @ 5 inches with all layers.

The Straw toppers are cut from page 67 @ 2.5 inches

Isn't this Cupcake Stand Adorable!?!? I purchased the Stand, and wrapped in Yellow Card Stock Cut into 1.2 inch strips. The Happy Birthday is from Page 64 Layer 1 @ 1 inch True Dial Size. The Stars were cut from Red and Blue Card Stock @ .75 inches and 1 Inches - 7 of Each cut.Page 41 S> Key. The Orange Circles are Actually the layers in Elmos Nose :) Cut at .5 and .75 inches. I cut the Circles for the insides of the plates at 10 inches, 7.5 inches, and 6 (I measured them first, and used the Circle pre-programmed in the E-2. I folded them in quarters, only on the inside and Cut those portions out so they would fit over the stands in the middle.

If your child loves Elmoa as much as Mason does, you know his favorite things are his Goldfish and Crayons :) I found these Crayon Cupcake Wrappers at Michaels Impulse section for 48 cents! :) Score for me!I used Styrofoam balls to show the Toothpick Decorations that I made (these have been shown previously on my site - to view, click here) They were cut from the Same cut above on page 28 and 1 Inch and Taped to a toothpick.

Here is a little more of the Decor for Mason's Birthday Party this Weekend! Tomorrow actually! The Elmos Treat Boxes are filled with Elmo Stickers, Tattoos, Play-doh, Ice Cream Chapstick for the Girls, and Cars for the boys. I purchased Napkins, Blue and Red plates, Elmo Rings and Elmo Cups! Mason now says getting the mail is "Elmo Mail!! :)  I have found that for the Parties, Primary color tables cloths, napkins, cups, etc work well with Most boy Parties! Iron Man; Red and Yellow - Superman; Blue, Red and Yellow - Spiderman; Red and Blue and it goes on! Soooo one suggestion that I have for Mommies of a Little Prince, get Primary Colored Table Cloths, Bowls, Cups, Plates etc, then for your theme you will only really need one package of each of the themed design products. IE Red and Blue Desert Plates, and one package of Elmo plates - Red and Blue Napkins, and One Package of Elmo Napkins - This will save you on time and $$ Also, with the re-usable items - Bowls for Dips, Chips, the cupcake Display, etc I have a box labeled B-day (this holds everything until I need it.

Here is my Little Prince Helping mommy glue on the Circles to his Cupcake stand :)

Another GREAT buy is the Balloon weights - You can get these for less than a dollar at Wal-mart and if you get 2 of each color they will last you for years to come!! Well worth 6 bucks in my opinion! ( These are behind the Straw Decorations )

I wrapped his Gifts in Bright Yellow Wrapping Paper, and Tied off with a Red Bow - I made a few extra Elmo's and adhered them to the Packages. The Banner in the Background has also been shown here before. Please Check out how I made that here.

Thank you SO much for stopping by and celebrating with us! This one is for all of those little men in our lives.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Also, there is no need to comment both times (on my blog) just once to be entered!! HAPPY HOPPING ALL!!

Here is the line-up for the Hop in case you get lost along the way. Please make sure to FOLLOW each of the designers blogs, AND comment on each of their projects, today and tomorrow to be entered in our giveaways!

Making great memories - Scrapping your favorite photos

This picture is one of my all time favorites ( tho, as you may have seen, I have lots!! Mason takes great photographs ) so I really wanted an equally beautiful Layout to match!

To create this layout I used:

  • Provo Craft Art Philosophy Cartridge - Flowers, Lace Border and Corner damask
  • DCWV Linen Closet Card Stock Stack
  • DCWV Adhesive Mat Stack Brights (peach)
  • Recollections Flat Back pearls, large and small
  • Recollections Fabric Butterflies (2)
  • Pink Flat Flower Back Resins
  • Cream Flat Flower Back Resin
  • Paper from scraps
  • Zip Dry Glue
  • ATG Glider
  • Recollections Picture Border Embellishments
  • Jolees Pearl Beads
  • Recollections Scroll Sticker
  • Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink

First, I inked the edges of all of my cuts with Tim Holzz Walnut Distress ink and Sponge Daubers.

I cut these flowers (above) from the Art Philosophy Cartridge at 2.25 (page 68 S<Font) inches in scraps of Pinks, Browns, and Turquoise/Creams. I inked the edges and backs and rolled them around my pinky tightly, and adhered to rest on the center with a glue gun. I also left a bead of glue to adhere the Jollee Beading Pearl.

The Recollections Scroll came with white flowers, and I added the pink flower resins. ;)

This adorable stamp is from Fiskars; Precious Baby Quotes. This stamp set has the most darling sayings for your little ones!!

I lined the bottom with 5 flat back pearls and layered the scroll over top of the sentiment. I used a punch along the top and wove a beige ribbon through.

I used the Lace from page 62 of the Art Philosophy Cartridge at 1 inch. I made my settings very slow for all of the detail work. I also cut the corner scroll from page 58 at 4.5 inches in the same pattern. I used bits and pieces from the Lace cut at the bottom of the sentiment, behind the photo, and on the Top left of the layout, to have a cohesive print throughout.

I used the Recollections photo frames shown above on each side of the photo. Aren't they adorable?!? I fell in love with these when I saw them. Very Roman Imperial ;) I added a bit of pink ink to the top of these to draw out some of the detail.

I truly hope that you have found some Fabulous Homespun Inspiration!! Wish me luck! I know that my fingers and toes are crossed!!

Don't forget to stop by this Weekend for the Little Prince Blog Hop that I will be hosting with some Fantastic friends to Celebrate Mason's Second Birthday!! Woo Hoo!! He is my little eternal Birthday Boy, and I may need to put a stop to this next year and not go so overboard ;) .....maybe!

There are tons of Giveaways at each stop along the way! Don't forget to grab the Blinkie below for your page for the Chance to Win a Mini-Spa day!! While you all are hopping, my dear friends and I, will be looking through your blogs to see who has commented ( here ) and posted our hop blinkie and selecting the Winner April 3rd!

I had a friend I needed to do a quick "Thank You" for, and decided I wanted to do a cute little bag on the imagine! One of my Design Team Sisters sent me a sweet little thank you, and a darling little purse for my craft room! Thank you Janet Royer! If you've never seen her site, go have a ball!! :)

This bag is a bonus Feature on The Imagine More cards cartridge. I printed in on a dark cream paper. I am not a fan of using cardstock on my bags! There is a reason gift bags are so thin, and not thick like cardstock! Folding it can be such a pain! So here is my little trick! I print the bags onto paper, and use a basic card stock as reinforcement on the inside. Here is a pic of what I mean! Sorry for the quality.

I adhered the tabs AFTER wrapping the twine around the top of the bag. :)

I made 3 Fabric Flowers (my dear Friend Rosa Kuilan, from NRM taught me these one crafty weekend!!) to adhere to the front with flat back pearls in the centers. I filled the bag with Easter Grass which I stocked up on last year after easter, and have used all year long on various projects :)

If you haven't yet please stop by My Cricut Craft Room to view some other creative projects brought to you by the Design Team at My Cricut Craft Room.

Fluttering by to Say Hi

I used the ENJOY THE SEASONS Imagine Cartridge

DCWV Brights Self Adhesive Stack

A sentiment stamp From Robyn At My Pink Stamper and a punch from Fiskars. I also used my Zip dry glue on the layer for the butterflies wing. It gives it a shiny gloss.

Project: Helping Hands

Last year I started purchasing items after holidays on a deep clearance with the goal in mind to be able to donate Easter baskets, Back-to-school backpacks, and Christmas stockings to poverty level homes and homeless shelters in the local area.

Last year I was only able to do 2 backpacks, which were donated to a set of twins in Elementary School and were filled with Crayons, Ruled Paper Notebooks, Crayons, Pencil Holders, Glue, Colored Pencils, erasers, rulers, pens, and other school supplies. I was able to stock up on a lot of these items during the weekly back to school sales that office depot and office max run right before students go back to school. In my area, they have .01 cent sales on items: rulers, paper, crayons, glue, erasers, etc (usually 3 different items per week, and a limit of 5 per item). This year, my goal is to gather a group of my girlfriends, and make this a weekly shopping trip, so that we can purchase the maximum number of items. The most expensive part of this endeavor is actually the backpacks. I was able to find backpacks at Menards last year for 6.99 and on top of that they gave a 4.00 store credit (total 2.99 per back pack). This year, I would LOVE to be able to do at least 20 backpacks.
For Christmas last year I was able to do 30 Christmas Goody Bags. I purchased items from Oriental Trade Company, Michael’s, and Wal-mart for little trinkets, toys, stickers and crafts. I was also given donations of brand new Beanie Babies to use from a CMOP employee J

For Easter this year, I had some help from some great people. First, I got such an overwhelming response from the girls on the Design Team at My Cricut Craft Room, and they are making cards and goody Bag Toppers and shipping them to me for these baskets!! What can I say? I have some very dear and sweet friends! Also, a DARLING friend of mine thankfully provided the baskets and adorable Praying Hands and Cross Chocolates (Storage has become an issue in our basement so storing 20 Easter baskets – and hopefully more for 2013 just isn’t an option L). Her Daughter, Daughters friend, and my dear Nikole helped me last night to get the baskets together for Donation. Attached are some pics J Aren’t they Adorable!!

I want to sincerely thank my Design Team Sisters and Friends for really making this a reality. The idea of this was truly inspired by my beautiful Son, Mason. I wanted to teach him that even if you do okay for yourself, others are hurting, and truly in need; of a kind smile, a few supplies for school, an ear to listen, or a helping hand. It can only go up from here!!

And here is my Card:

I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge for the Tag and the Butterfly. The Scallop cut is from the imagine and the print is from the imagine more cards cartridge.

The Believe Stamp is from the Paper Studio.

The Fabric is from a K&Company Specialty Paper Pack, as it the Tag and Butterfly paper.

I inked the butterfly with Turquoise ink and stickled with clear stickles.

I embellished the center of the butterfly with Bo Bunny Rhinestones
